got some little gem seeds into some jiffy pellets on monday. And put them into my led light box (just cos i had a bit of space) and they are going mental. Never grew them before so the question is how fast do they grow?

Happy seeds make happy plants, so it can very for germination. I usually have them come up within a week of sowing.
so fast seems to be the idea.

I'm just starting lettuce in rockwool cubes right now actually. I'm going to be growing them hydroponically under fluorescents. I planted them this weekend and they sprouted in about 3 days. I'll post pics later, but yeah lettuce is a fast growing crop. Keep it well watered, well fed with nitrogen, and you're good. Its very easy to grow, I grew various ones in pots earlier this year with little effort. But yeah expect about 30-50 days from seed til harvest depending on the variety.
