contest Growdown Throwdown 2019 Sri Lanka - Chilli Red!

Im late to the party, for some reason I thought that the growdown didnt start until later in the year. So first questions, is it too late? Seeds purchased from Sri Lanka so gonna be a few weeks before they hit soil.

Even though Im late I do have a climate advantage being no winter and all as long as no hurricanes it up lol

How do the root riot plugs compare to rock wool cubes?
Actually, I don't know! I've never used rock wool. What I DO like about Root Riot plugs is I can go both ways if I like.

When I think about it, I suppose you COULD go both ways with rock wool, I've never used it. Anyone else care to weigh in?

Though I can't help with that comparison, Paul, I can tell you that they have kept my Rocoto cuttings alive for a very....long....time....without generating a single root. The algea is clouding up the shot glasses pretty good though...

I do believe I'll try one with these Sri Lanka seeds, though.....just to see...
I'm still a bit foggy from last year.... Which one are you using?

PM Walchit for seeds.

They all gotta come from the same source, Pepper_Guru.  Walchit is providing for the late comers.

Im waiting to germinate once I see you get yours, you're the farthest away that I sent out I think.
Aw man, I appreciate it, but please, don't hamstring your grow like that. If you want to wait for the other internationals, that's cool, but I definitely don't want anyone getting held up over my shipping issues. I always anticipated a late start anyway. :)

Yeah, same here. If there's a hold up due to customs or whatever, please don't wait.

I'm in no position to take a shot at the crown anyway. I just want to see how much I can get playing the hand I've been dealt.

Also, that way I can get some 'inspiration' for my own grow if you're all ahead of me

No possible way you purchased them from Sri Lanka, ha BUT glad youre joining and getting the correct seeds from Walchit!

Guru needs a handicap.

When did you start that helmet head last year Rich?
Feb 21 and helmet head emerged on Feb 26th, finally shed its seed hull by mid March and went on to win! LOL when I saw that helmet head for the first time, something told me use me so I did. Hahaha

The Root Riot. I've got a number of rootless clones going since last year (hee hee! I can say that now!!) that simply won't root for me. There's some triggering mechanism that I'm obviously not aware of. They are exposed to full daylight, is that a factor?

Anyway, my Growdown seeds will likely start in the same stuff, at least a couple of them......

Not even close! BUT still interested in how they turn out for you! All harvests obtained from the correct contest plants (from my seeds) are to be photographed and posted. Choose only one plant to harvest from the entire year.

Well, folks.  The little buggers have been sitting on their fat little asses, flopped in the in the 100F sauna for 2 and a half days soaking up the warmth and slamming way too many diesel-enhanced mojitos .... with NO SIGN OF GERMINATION.

I think Andy gave me some dud seeds!!

:P
