Bhutlah Pepper pods stunted. Is it normal?

Hello gals and guys

Rookie grower from Honduras here. I have this very nice and broad chocolate bhutlah that is growing in a pot. On its first flowering round it only set one pod, a very nice and mighty hot pod, but alas, only one. Now its in its second round of flowering and it has set dozens of pods! There are about 20 good sized ones but the are maybe another 20 or so that just stopped growing. They are not dropping, but have turned dark green and appear to not be growing at all. Is this normal?

I have also included a picture of the one pod from the first flowering round.

I have been growing bhut jalokia indoors and I get the same thing. Im tempted to remove the smaller ones so the bigger ones can grow better.

A lot of chiles pump out an early round of runty pods before they start the real pods. I'd just let it play out, see how it goes.

I guess ill do exactly that. I do hope they get to prosper though. That will be one heck of a harvest if they do!
