In case anyone is interested, the Blendtec Classic 575 will be on sale at Costco for $199.99 from 1/2/2019 through 1/27/2019. Limit of 5.
 
I've read good things here about the Blendtec.  Thinking of getting one meself.

We have a blendtec and we love it.
Most used appliance in out kitchen only next to the microwave.

Cannot recommend it enough. $199 is pretty good deal.

I looked through the Blendtec comparison page. Looks like all but a couple have a 3hp motor. Main differences are bells and whistles. Does anyone really need 100 speeds on their blender?!?!??? Other stuff is decorative styles.

I also love my Blendtec. While I use it mostly for sauce making, I don't know why anyone needs more than pulse.low.high. looks like a great deal. Thanks for sharing.
 
My L'Equip RPM blender has a little speed dial with no presets, you literately rev it up like an engine and it has an RPM meter... that's my hot sauce blender. My smoothie blender is a Vitamix.

I have one of the older industrial ones. That toggle switch looks like it's from Radio Shack ;)
