A strange pepper with rough skin

I wonder if anyone could shed some light on what this might be. It's approx 5Cm in height, comes from a white flowing plant and only 1 per joint, but most distinctly has very rough feeling skin. What ever it is, it is not something that I was intentionally growing.

Thanks for any help.

3.Fruit per node√
4.Leathery skin√

C. a.nnuum

If not intentionally grown, any possibility of a C. annuum cross?

thanks for the responce, i'm tryinging to look up 'C. a.nnuum', but it keeps defulting to 'capsicum annumm' and those types list peppers with smooth skin. So is C. a.nnuum different from that?

I apologize for that....The proper way the top 5 domesticated species are listed C. annuum, C. baccatum, C. chinense, C. frutescens, and C. pubescens, which is the reason for the inquiry. Each can have a defining trait that can help identify it.

As most C. annuum have smooth skin your rough skinned pepper unusual and that's the reason for the cross theory.

What were you intentionally growing? What was it supposed to be? If this is a cross, perhaps that variety is one side of the parent.

Where did you get your seeds? If you saved them last year, consider crosses from different peppers in close proximity to each other.

I can't remember the source, but almost defiently Amazon or eBay but they were surposed to Hinkelhatz, but the seeds instead are mostly Serrano del Sols, and few other ones i can't identify. A strange mix indeed.

Begs the question, you bought 1 variety, Hinkelhatz, and received 1 pkg. of seeds  that has grown a number of different phenotype's? Not trying to rub it in, just sounds like seller swept up a bunch of mixed seeds off the tabletop after sorting and sent them along.... Not a case of mistaken ID....

I grew a bulls heart pepper that had super tough skin, even after being cooked, they taste good, but the skin was annoying. The pods looked a little different than yours though.

The skin of these is thick but tender, but looking up Bulls heart it seems about as close as i can find. Thanks.
