Got a jar of horseradish mustard. My son scooped a spoonful and popped it in his mouth. The stuff is mostly horseradish. Need I say more?

So he liked it? I don't get the issue.

Unexpectedly getting that much horseradish in the mouth can cause immediate redness in the face and a look like one just put a superhot into the mouth. Plus a look of utter shock. Frankly, I'm kind of surprised he didn't spit any out.

Got my CCN order yesterday. Today I remembered what drama queens Tsakoniki eggplant plants can be. They will be fine, but geesh! So glad the chile plants aren't like that!

Drama queens. Most of the ones I know are guys. The rest are plants.

Pineapple cores - excellent flavor addition to what's in the slow cooker.

Rawk I used the whole pineapple, core and all, on a poached salmon last night. It was outstanding!

Eating the core isn't bad. It can be tough and fibrous, so most peeps don't eat uncooked core. And since not eaten raw, it's not familiar cooked, either.

Me? I only rarely eat pineapple because it is too acidic - more than a few small pieces literally results in mild acid burn in my mouth - totally unpleasant.

Car accidents suck, especially when you are the one who got rear-ended and hurt. Bah!

Thanks, Ann. Things are progressing well - most of the large-area pain is gone now, though certain areas persist. I am hopeful that a week from now this will just be a memory. Onward and upward! ;)

Anyone know of any customs issues with packing hot peppers into luggage to be taken to Germany?

Germany huh. I once knew a guy that got thrown in the dunkel spitz for hazen spatening on the kuken mutz. Pretty serious..

Blue corn masa and enough red chile powder do, in fact, make a nice shade of violet. Just be careful about whom you invite to dinner. Ha!

If money was no object and you had one tequila to drink before you died, what would it be?

I'm kidding geeme. I love tequila. I never spend any money on it but my hipanic buddy is REALLY into tequila and spends crazy money on bottles. I've had some pretty good stuff.

Been ambivalent about using turmeric, but had a  moment and added it to something a short while ago. Now it's rockin' hard when I cook. Good stuff once you figure it out!

... and go. Next week they'll say it causes cancer - whatever! But I'd hardly say it has no flavor - au contraire!

I think it tastes great. My father swears by it for the arthritis in his hands as well.

I started running and taking a turmeric/curcumin extract w/ piperine (black pepper) since it's supposed to help with inflammation... not sure it makes a huge difference but I ran a 10k this weekend (6.2 miles) and I'm feeling pretty good about it!

Have broken my months-long hiatus from the culinary arts for tonight. The one burning question all must ask: Is it THE TB worthy? As Texans say, we're fixin' to find out!

As you should. I don't flirt with dudes. A woman will make you a sandwich while telling you she's leaving you. A dude never does that! Making the sandwich...I mean.
