Looks like your off to the races. Datil and HSH let me down this year. I did manage to get 4 HSH bonnets to germinate but only 1 made it to a starter pot and it doesn't look great.
Howdy neighbor!! There's a few active members from this area. Texas Hot Peppers is up in Anna. @Dougthehead stays somewhere close to you. Not the best but not the worst place to grow peppers.
Chicago hardy fig is known to do well in colder climates. Right now is not the ideal time to take cuttings but I'm sure they're available. I've had good luck on Etsy with various seeds and cuttings.

I've grown Cheiro Roxa, it was beautiful plant. It had that classic floral Chinense taste and was hot as Hades.
