Hi,
some years ago, Pepperlover sold an annuum called Wine (their own creation). Back then, Judy was still in charge and the recommendation on their website (still available on Wayback Machine: Wayback 2017) read:
So far so good. I currently have the Wine growing, a pretty large pepper about...
Thanks, saiias. But I think the different tepins are probably pretty different in heat level. So I would not really take it for granted that - if one is a 7 - that all of the others are. I myself could wait and don't have any problem with any heat level but the people I'm giving the plants to...
Hi,
this year I am growing the TWT from Pepperlover. Strangely enough, I did not expect the seeds from this one to germinate (well) but it surprisingly was the one that had pretty much the best germination rate from last year's PL seeds. Quite a few of them did not germinate at all.
I have...
Sorry to disappoint you. Judy is not a part of pepperlover any more - at least that is what has been written in this thread a couple of times before. And that was quite a while ago. Chances are, that pepperlover will be gone sooner or later, too. Doubtful if it will reemerge from the current...
I awakened 25+ year old seeds once - those were not capsicum but everyone back then also told me chances would be close to zip. No, I did not even know about Ga-3 or H2O2 and other things back then. However, I knew about distilled water. So, whichever preparation you use - use distilled water to...
Well, I am basing my recommendation for Ga-3 on this https://www.researchgate.net/publication/323020599_Influence_of_Germination_Aids_on_Germination_of_Different_Capsicum_sp - among other articles. It was just the first one I found but everything I read so far seems to support that Ga-3 enhances...
If and when you try again, get some Gibberellic acid (Ga-3) first. Some Chinese sellers sell it cheap on eBay. Use the powder kind. 0.25 g of Gibberellic on 1 quart of distilled water. I also add 1 g of KNO3 powder, but this is not necessary IMHO, although it might catch some of the seeds which...
I use .25g of Ga-3 (Gibberellic acid) and 1.0 g of KNO3 in a quart/liter of water for the tough cases.
Yes - sometimes some carriers prove that it can be done. For a price, though. FedEx (not express, the cheapest kind) got an item to my doorstep from California to Munich within 3 days. DHL...
Depending on where you live and how a parcel/letter/registered mail gets sent, a month may often not be enough - international. The "record" last year was a book I ordered in the US. I received it after over 3 months! 2-4 weeks is normal for parcels, 10-20 days for letters. Registered mail often...
I never got an answer to my email either, a couple of months ago. However, the seeds arrived. Germination is still a bit sub-par, currently. The Annuums aren't much better than the Chinenses. After 14 days, very few seeds germinated. It sure looks like the seeds are old. Seeds from other...
Well, I had all my chinense peppers in water on Dec 20, in soil or other media after that. The ones from RFC had a 4/4 germination rate. Due to what I read here I had at least 5 seeds in the water for all pepperlover seeds. The results until today: 0/5 Peach Fatalii, 2/5 Chocolate Fatalii (the...
I am fully satisfied with RFC. Ordered a few packs of seeds, got a few freebies. Delivery to Germany was reasonably fast. The chinenses all sprouted a lot earlier than the ones from pepperlover and they ALL germinated. I am not so lucky with my Pepperlover seeds although in most cases I at least...
No, it's not bad. I got the Ultra Death and tried one of the milder ones before (can't remember which one that was). They Ultra Death is good for making your food really hot but there is not a lot of aroma to it. Just plain heat. So, in the end it's not great and not bad.
I am sure there are...
IDK, a germination test may backfire, as I only have a limited number of seeds. If only very few germinate, chances are that I am out of bullets once the real thing is supposed to take off.
Well, I have enough seeds for 2021 in store so those will be my backup in case some of the 2020 ones...
