Have you had your soil tested? If not I would a get a professional test your your county extension service. They will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about your soil. In FL it is $7 for a U-FL test that tells Phosphorus Potassium Calcium Magenseium and a few other things in PPM...

Is anyone else growing Aji Ahuachapáu? I am and MAN is this one early baccatum I will soon Have some ripe peppers from it in couple of days. Also the pods are very large and long for a baccatum. This pepper rocks!!! It should be on every northern gardeners list of baccatums.

I agree with ajijoe 12-18 inches per pepper plant is fine in the rows. BUT I space at least 4ft between rows. This gives me great production and I have room to walk and bend over (although by the end of season I a mainly standing up) and pick the pods.

I have banana peppers and jalapenos blooming with many blooms. Most baccatums and annums are over 1 ft tall...

I use a mix of 45% peat 20% perlite 35% steam treated mushroom compost. It works well for me and seems to hold the right amount of moisture. Also I wick water my seed trays.

I see these on my fruit trees. I leave them alone because they are great pollinators. They usually just pick one tree and stick to it. They really don't much damage but the leaves look nasty.

I grow mine in a greenhouse That gets high 80s during the day and high 50s to low 60s at night. They seem to grow fine with those temps. But I would not go any lower than 50 for a growing temp.
