If you think it's could and dark in the UK during winter, maybe you shouldn't come here? We have temps reaching -35 to -40C every winter, and because I live north of the arctic circle we have midnight sun in the summer and the opposite in winter - polar night when the sun stays below the horizon for weeks... But weather permitting you should get a glimpse of the sun again in february, ha ha ha.
Come visit next february and stay a couple of months!
