    SeanW's 2015 Glog - Got Hydro?

Woah, flickr has changed since I was last in there. Left side is my squash, pumpkins all the way left with butternut and spaghetti one row in. The plastic on that side is the bushel gourds. Tomatos are in the row next to the squash. All the way right is some wormwood seedlings, 3 rapid rooters...

    SeanW's 2015 Glog - Got Hydro?

Yeah, I need to snag a shot of the babies. The hydro setup is just a bunch of buckets sitting in my yard at the moment, so nothing too exciting there.

    Stickman's 2015 - That's All She Wrote...

Thanks, going forward with mostly hydro for my peppers this year. Should be interesting. Extended forecast has us actually cracking into the 70s after next weekend, but we'll see what actually happens. My little guys aren't ready to go out anyway. This chill just won't go away, the Winter...

    Stickman's 2015 - That's All She Wrote...

Hi Rick! Glad to see you survived the winter. I got utterly thwacked, 114" total for the winter, not counting the little bit we got last fall and the 6 or 8" we got after Winter officially ended. It just didn't stop, did it? We got over 30" in one storm alone. But hey, I survived and there's...

    SeanW's 2015 Glog - Got Hydro?

Woah...I uh...totally flaked on last year's glog. I have a 1 year old. That'll happen. The moral of the story last year was that none of my plants really performed all that great save for the plants in the DWC. I didn't really get out much to take care of things, so that was probably why. I also...

SeanW is back...and the hydro plants are all in!

So, just a shot of the two basil plants I have growing     Choppers for scale. These both were planted at roughly the same time. The dirt one is a bit perkier, the hydro one is twice the size (or, was before I harvested some for pizza).

SeanW is back...and the hydro plants are all in!

Yeah, the leaves on the hab were just a little smaller than I was expecting. Not a big deal, I guess.   I went down to VA to see my sister graduate, and my dad and I took the opportunity to jump over to Virginia Beach to see the VB Patriotic Festival, at least the air show segment. We try and...

SeanW is back...and the hydro plants are all in!

Urfa biber plants have gone into the hydro! Woo!   (um...stand on your head there, silly phone...)   Hydro basil is looking pretty good.   I think my nutes were off in the hab bucket - I had added it per the "rapid growth" directions, which gave me a short, super bushy plant. I've adjusted...

SeanW is back...and the hydro plants are all in!

The weather is still crap around here...we saw some 80s this weekend, but we're back down into the 60s when the storms hit tomorrow.   I really need to get out and weed, I have a TON of weeds. Curiously enough, it looks like a lot of the "weeds" are tomato volunteers from last year. I'm planning...

    Stickman's 2014 Glog- That's all folks!

It's only a plastic film Sean... the soil underneath would need to be very firm and you'd still have to be careful not to cut or distort the film. I'd say not a good idea. Why not lay out the film and set flat stepping stones on top of it?     That's what I figured. I ended up picking up some...

Can you walk on that solar mulch? I can't get to the center of my garden without walking on it

    Amir's 2014 rookie year

I like how you describe this as your "rookie" year. That's more plants and a wilder setup than the majority of the rest of the people here!   Good luck, I hope you're rolling in pods come picking season

Not really. I wasn't born until 20 years later!

Ah, yes, the summer of '64... I won't make any comments about my whereabouts that year ;)

    What's up with my serrano?

I'm not terribly concerned with being organic. I use a lot of organic stuff, but am perfectly willing to use non-organic stuff when the job calls for it (I've been at war with creeping charlie in my yard, I've been hitting it with some nasty chemicals).    half - this was just sort of an...
