  • So this kid (maybe 16) walks into work the other day and starts inquiring about UV grow bulbs. I take him through the electrical dept. telling him what I know about grow lights/fixtures/etc. About halfway through, I ask him what he's growing... *looong pause* "umm...ya know...flowers...and stuff..." BUSTED lol!

HA!!! I really find this amusing because I've been there before. Did he have this astounded look on his face when you didn't believe him?

Awesome! You handled that like a pro!! The guy in the middle was hilarious! I think you should just let him do pepper reviews!! The world has enough people eating peppers with great tolerance...that guy's reaction was just plain funny to watch!! Nice job!

Thanks guys! I'm thinking for any future pod reviews I'll be sure to bring back Jim. What's funny is just a few minutes before we shot this video he had just finished recovering from eating a yellow fatalii for the first time! The results were similar lol
Just ordered some Malawi Piquante and Peri Peri seeds from Jim at superhotchiles.com for next year, can't wait for them to get here!

The point with freezing is that you can decide later what to do with them. Yes, they get mushy, but who cares if you are putting them in cooked sauces, salsas, or drying them for powder or flakes.

Good point, Jeff H. This batch will be dried for powder purposes I'm thinking...I have a small food processor for the grinding but other than that do I use some kind of mortar and pestle? What do y'all use to get that fine consistency in powders?
For those of you that may be interested: I haven't forgotten about the 7 Pot review video I promised a week or so ago, the video has been made and just needs some minor editing. Unfortunately I'm being buried by grad school stuff right now, but the video shall be up in a few days!
Video glog update #2 is now available, enjoy everyone!

My vote is for "A". It's smaller, but I have a feeling it's got more placenta inside. Placenta = pain!
ATTN PEPPERHEADS: Do you wanna see me eat a 7 Pot Yellow for the first time and subsequently burst into flames?! Check my glog for my second video update and vote here on my status for which pod I should eat! My glog should be updated as soon as this video finishes loading, at which point the voting will commence.
Debating recording myslef eating a 7 Pot Yellow for the first time and posting it on here...thoughts?

One of the best parts of THP is watching our comrades get burnt up.

Just ate my first Wild Brazil, good bit of heat from such a tiny pepper! I definitely see myself snacking on these like potato chips lol

A full barrel after one good rain kinda makes you laugh off that rain gauge they use to tell you how much rain you got, doesn't it?

Haha just some very strategically placed red habs! Pic will be put up sometime tonight.
It's incredibly windy outside today...if my peppers didn't have solid stems before they definitely will after this!
In 2012 I journeyed to South Africa with Stevenson University. Just a few days ago the Stevenson trip for this year had their bus robbed at gunpoint...phones, cameras, money, passports, all gone...count your blessings, folks.

lol, everyone, and i mean everyone who loves south africa, which is indeed beautiful says the crime is overblown, yet i hear this or similar stories all the time!

It is indeed a beautiful country. I was there for 5 weeks and the biggest problem we had was the homeless and beggars that are just a tad more active than we're used to here in the States. From the details I've heard the whole thing sounds organized, as in they targeted that specific bus at that specific time and location. It's a shame really, I had 5 incredible weeks and their trip was ended on day 2.
Can't wait to get out of work so I get more potting soil and move the rest of my seedlings into their new homes. Then the arduous task of hardening them all off begins...
