    organic Organic Gardening...No Till...Forum?

Glad to have you here on the forum.  I stay away from pesticides but use both organic and chemical fertilizers.  I'm looking forward to seeing your plants and harvests.

    consistency Sauce consistency

I always take the skins off tomatoes before using in sauce. It makes for a much smoother blend.

"CLOSED" 1/2lb Fresh Datil Peppers (50+ pods) $19.95 "CLOSED"

Mine arrived in very good condition. I'll use a bunch to make a Rocoto/Datil sauce. A+

Does anyone have any ripe Rocoto pods?

Mine look like they're about 4 weeks away.

    soil Empire Builder Soil

I transplanted my seedlings into EB this year. It's great. My transplants eventually go into something cheaper or in the ground, but this is really great stuff. I even transplanted some very young sprouts and there was no burn. It's safe for babies.

for-sale Orange County, CA plant sale tomorrow (Saturday May 12)

I've got more seedlings than room and they're ready for a transplant. I'm conveniently located near the Orange County fairgrounds. They start at $5, but I'm generous with the discounts when you buy a bunch. Here are some of the ones that are most overdue for a new home. They've been hardened...

    AJs 2012 Season - A Pictorial Discussion

Congrats on the ripe scopion! I have some manzanos already, but those are easy. My C. Chineses took a beating in overwintering and I'll probably only have 1 or 2 that I think will come back. The rest of your plants look great too. Hope you have a great season. Congrats on the ripe scopion...

    Tansplant/Shift up question

When I've repotted to late, the tiny pods stay tiny and then ripen before much new growth occurs, seems to delay the next flush a bit. If you trim roots they may drop. Now I would take the pods off. Here's what I am doing: 1st prune back. Wait a week or so for the wounds to heal. Wash...

    Maxi Bloom

1tsp / gallon is good. For young seedlings you can alternate between that and water.

    nutrients Making your own nutrients

I'm not going to count all the essential elements that are included, but I do know plants can live on this alone AND that there is sulfur. I use peter's pro now, but Maxibloom is very nice. Here's a section from the MSDS for Maxibloom: Ingredients: MaxiBloomTM Nutrient For Reproductive Growth...

STC3248, Just Another Grow Log! Holiday Harvest!

I've used a lot of Kelllogg's in my time. In my experience, it's much better the second time around if you recycle/screen it, but by then it's about half the volume of what you bought. All those big bark pieces need to break down. By itself and right out of the bag is not so good for...

    CMPMAN1974 - 2012 Grow Log - Started 2/26/12

I've been super busy and figured you'd have these started already. If you're interested, I've got seeds from a very nice Red Rocoto to send your way. Big pods and early (for a pube). I just pulled off an extra ripe pod for seeds this AM. I'll post them to you tomorrow. Amazing list as...

    BGE Lump

Weird, I thought I posted this in a Big Green Egg thread. Anyway, most all lump is good, but to me this BGE stuff is superior. I like the flavor of Cowboy, but I end up with a lot of dust and huge hard chunks. To a lesser degree that was a problem with the last bag of Chef's Delight mesquite...
