Made it to Maine!! Finally here after three years of planning. Hoping to bring epic super-hotness to an area that has lots of nice folks that seem to not yet appreciate the joy of burn. Either way, excited about building my new greenhouse.
It's official! I'm moving to Maine in less than 6 weeks! Hooray! This means I'll have a greenhouse (or two) soon. Will still be growing superhots in USDA zone 4b :-D
Just tried my first Moruga. I am literally dying. Boggles my mind that nature makes something like this - absolutely, mind-alteringly hot. Just took a small piece on the bottom chewed it twice and spat it out. Flavor followed by the feeling of sucking on a soldering iron. Typing with sweat dripping down my face and back. Unreal.
Made Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) for dinner tonite - made with fresh farlic, thai basil and red savinas from the garden. Delicious and HOT. Best Savinas I've ever grown, very pleased. Hope everyone is having a great gardening season this year!
HOLY CRAP! Just took a bite of one of my red Jolokias from my outdoor hydroponic setup. SO MUCH HOTTER than last year. The front of my face is literally numb. What a great season this is going to be!
Finally back from mega-trip. Mainers REALLY do not like spicy food, it's hilarious. Going to have a LOT of gardening to do today. Probably going to harvest 50 lbs of serranos. Firing up the canning equipment now.
So. Many. Ghost. Peppers. On. My. Plants. So many. Literally over a thousand, perhaps towards 5,000. Will have to start keeping my toilet paper in the freezer.....
Noticed my first Naga Jolokia forming today - it's already about 3" long so I don't know how I missed it. Can't believe how early it is this year. Hope this one is hot and tasty!
Just tried Justaguy's Jimmy Scorpion sauce. It's awesome. The 'restrictor' on the cap should have warned me it was going to be spicy. It's hot (and tasty)!
