seeds Germinating Seeds - my method. What's yours?

I don't think you are being dumb, but you definitely aren't using the jiffy pellets for what they were designed for. I now use jiffy pellets for all my germination and I won't go back to anything else...   I personally don't like the paper towel germination method. It's way too labour...

Good news for the Brazilian Starfish

I'm am truly impressed at the generosity of the people on this forum. I think it's great! I'm not dogging anyone for it.   Still, in my opinon, sending someone (who admittedly has a job) $1 on paypal for a bag of soil is comically absurd.   Good luck with the grow.

Before and After (Proof that a cheap setup can work!)

Yup, the only heat source was the lights. There was a vent from my furnace close by, but that room is the coldest in my house and probably never got much above 18C/65F until the sun got stronger in the spring time and warmed the closed room past 22C. That's when they really started getting big...

Good news for the Brazilian Starfish

Y'all are pretty generous, sending this kid money to buy soil...but how is he ever going to afford fertilizer?? Or a dehydrator?? OR TEH NEXT iPHONE!?!? lol   Somebody needs to cut a lawn or two and earn some money the right way...

Before and After (Proof that a cheap setup can work!)

Started these badboys in mid-Feb, using a setup that cost under $100!   Below are pics from the start of the grow and of the plants this past weekend. They will be hardened off in the coming weeks, plant-out by the end of the month. There is also a closeup pic of one of the Bhut Jolokia (or...

    Plant Tags/Markers What you prefer?

I use a wax pencil/grease pencil to write on my pots, or in the case of a garden I use 1" wide wooden stakes and write on them with a wax pencil. They hold up well to UV!

    Black Hungarian

These were among the first peppers I grew when I picked up the hobby. The heat level was quite low, much lower than a jalapeno. The pepper was very sweet and really good for roasting on the BBQ. The flesh is deep red/purple and is quite thick, so it took quite a while to dehydrate. Well worth...

    Plant's broken.

Yep, same bulbs! I have 3 of those shop lights and it's enough light to cover a 3' x 4' area with 75+ plants in solo cups. If you add a fan and put the whole setup on a timer for a few bucks more, it's worth it! I have a timer with 3-prong plug so that I can use a power bar with it

    Plant's broken.

If you are in Quebec, this is one of the best deals I've found in local stores. Fixture is 20 bucks, add another 10 bucks for 2x 32w T8's. I got the "daylight" bulbs @ 6500k. The fixture is 48" long so you can get a bunch of plants under there and it's cheaper than buying those big CFL...

    Drippin

There is all kinds of drip tubing out there! I remember when I worked at an irrigation shop we sold all kinds of micro drip line. You can buy 1/4" line and splice in your own emitters, but if you want to save some work you also have the option of the same sized sweat line, perforated line, or if...

Haha thanks! I stumbled while carrying my pellet tray to where I potted my seedlings, and a couple got mixed up. I figure it will be fun to try and identify the ? plants before the pods set...
