    Piment d'Espelette Pepper Help

Sorry for the delay in pics. Do these look like they could be Piment d'Espelette pods? I'm positive I didn't confuse my seeds when I planted them. @Windchicken, is this what you were seeing? Thanks. @Siliman... are you Basque too? =)

    Piment d'Espelette Pepper Help

PepperJam, that's exactly what I thought they should look like. Mine have ridges and are about half that size in length. Sorry, I should have taken a pic first, but I plan to get one up tomorrow when the sun is out again. Thanks! Btw, PepperJam, where did you buy your seeds? Thanks!

    Piment d'Espelette Pepper Help

Hi all, I have a one year old Piment d'Espelette pepper plant and I'm finally starting to see some of my first chillies. The peppers that are growing and ripening red do not look like the Piment d'Espelette images I've seen on the Web. My peppers are about 2 inches long, 1.5 inches wide and are...

Peppers changing mature color before they're full size

It's been mid 70's during the day and low 50's at night so I think the temperature is good for the chillies here. I didn't get any peppers from this plant last year so I don't know if I should expect the first few chillies to be small, or if they are lacking something.

Peppers changing mature color before they're full size

Hi all, My pimient d'espelette pepper plant is a year old and has a few chillies on it now. I noticed that a couple of the peppers are starting to turn a red color, which is the shade that this variety becomes when its mature. I've also noticed that the peppers changing color are only about...

    Growing Peppers and Allergy Concerns

Hi all, I have a strange question I'm hoping I can get some help with. I'm using Foxfarm's Ocean Forest potting soil, which has crab and fish meal in the mix, and I want to give some chillies to my mom when they're ready. I'm also feeding the plants with seaweed/fish emulsion fertilizer once a...

Yum, the sauce totally worked! I'll post the recipe on red-hot recipes. I used this pepper (I was chicken and cooked with the smallest red I saw): Anyone know what that pepper is? Here's the chicken I just cooked (sorry, the pic isn't that great):

food ??? Hot Pepper Reduction Sauce ???

Hi all, Just today I received a mix box of hot chiles from Baker's Peppers and I can't wait to use them. I'm baking some chicken now and I'm wondering if I should try to make a reduction sauce with one of the peppers in my box. Has anyone done this? If so, how did it turn out? I know I've got...

Thanks for the pics everyone! @Smokemaster: the seeds I have are actually from you! I participated in Bonnie's pepper swap on GardenWeb and was one of the lucky ones that received your tree habanero seeds. It sure is an impressive plant, and I'm in California as well, so I'm looking forward to...

chinense Habanero De Arbol or "Tree Habanero"

Hi all, I recently received seeds for the habanero de arbol (tree habanero) and I was hoping I could get some information about variety. I did a quick search on Google and can't find any info! Not to be stupid, but are these peppers actually habaneros? What's the flavor and heat like for this...

raised-bed Growing Peppers in Raised Beds?

Thanks! So would you say that 12" is the minimum depth, but anything deeper is better? I'm in Northern California and while it don't get as hot as other locations, we still have our hot summers like last year. Hi Jamie, no reason other than I like the look of contained raised beds better...
