Might be a dumb question but hear me out...
So i understand that peppers tend to grow leafy and production suffers with higher N ferts. Can you give a high N fert to a plant that is 6-12" just to get the foundation going? Then later on switch to a low/no N and higher P/K once you are done...
Yea im not so much looking for or expecting growth lol. I just need to free up some room under the indoor lights so I can start some more. We aren't far from 60+ min temps here.
I am up in zone 9a on the panhandle. Our last coldish day should be next week when it dips down to mid/low 40s for...
I have a light packed with peppers inside that I started a few months ago. Looking to free up some space and start some more if I can.
is 50+ degrees safe enough to move them outside? I figure thats far from frost temp... anyone have any success with early transplants?
Its mostly jalapenos...
First year doing shishitos. What are your guidelines for harvesting? I can't find any specifics other than "Harvest when lime green and measure 3-5 inches". Have checked youtube/google/here
I have quite a few that have reached this 3-5 inch mark pretty damn quickly. I know eventually they...
is this a popular way of sprouting? I'm new so kinda curious of pros/cons.
I've just buried 2-3 seeds per cup and thinned but i guess this is good to as you can actually visually see the duds etc.
First season newb here.... I'm getting a real brosciencey vibe with this topic...
"Does letting a pod ripen on the plant "signal" the plant that mission is complete and lead to a lesser production for the remainder of the season?"
Has anyone actually tested this? I mean... initially I was...
Yea, keep us posted. Cooling and heating require a huge amount of electricity...not to mention you have to have the battery bank to back it up when the sun is down. At that point your better off bringing the plants indoors and getting a decent light fixture for $100-125
With the money you'd...
Yea i considered it as well with a standalone greenhouse but heating can be pretty expensive. You may not have many freezing days but you might have some trouble under 40-50 degs
Not sure how cold it gets in houston on an average night in winter but if it dips below 40-50 heat from the days...
Yea as things dry up a bit it seems to be perking up. I think it was just all the water. Not going to water them at all for a bit. Should be fine.
The storm is still a ways out and they have no idea from what i understand what side of FL itll even be on. Time will tell. Could be LA to east...
The more I read on this the more it sounds like bacterial leaf spot.... I think im gonna hold off on watering, trim off the affected leaves, and hope it doesn't rain
any other thoughts? Anyone think fungal or bacteria spray is needed? I'd hate to pull em
These poor bastards are throwing me for a loop. Just added some ferts to see if it helps. Doesn't seem to have any effect one way or the other.
Yellowing leaves from the base up. Some brown spots. I've removed some of the leaves but it seems to continue to spread/effect other leaves. starting...
yea round 2 for these buggers started within the last week. I hear they hit twice a season. I'm shitty at catching them small... which sucks...and its been raining almost daily so i cant use BT =/
Yea lol the whole plot gets some insane drooping during the day but they always snap right back out of it in the evening and look great in the morning. If you saw it youd think someone snipped the stalks.
Still kinda weird that this is the lone bastard of the group. I'll try a bit of calmag...
We can probably rule those out. These were all put out back in the beginning of the season. ~60-65 deg out at night. Also I live on the gulf coast so we have the humidity.
It's been doing it since then. ~4-5 inches tall
