They don't seem to grow well with two. I'd separate the big ones and pot them up. If you damage the roots, there is plenty of time for them to recover.

All capscium species are perennial. They cannot stand the cold in most places, so we grow them annually.

    I'll post my F3s as well. Last year they were not fully erect like the F1 and F2. It says hot hybrid and not F1, so I wonder. Perhaps it's a c. frute and c. annuum hybrid? I didn't realize the package said c. frute on it.

The left looks like a habanero and the right looks like it could be a black pearl.

  It's highly unlikely they are natural color variants. I think they got crossed with a yellow pepper somewhere down the line.

It's impossible to go off based on the peppers in the sauce. I have Jamaican Scotch bonnet sauces way hotter than any of my habanero sauces. Heck it's hotter than some TS Moruga based sauces. I've also made an Assam bhut jolokia sauce that's hotter than any TS Moruga based sauce I've ever tried...

A professor friend of mine crossed yellow and red and got brown, which surprised him. He was trying to get orange, lol. I really don't know why that happened. Has anyone tried crossing red and yellow? It would be easiest to cross a brown pepper though. Brown seems to be a deep red.
