    Finally growing peppers!

Yes, most plants are fine all Summer if you can keep them watered, except I haven't had any luck with any type of bell peppers here Try to keep them in some shade from noon to around 4 pm. Put them in large containers with light porous soil (Canadian Peat or Coir based) so they don't drown...

    Finally growing peppers!

Hey Neighbor, where are you at in SoFla? If you're near me, your pepper season is winding down now for Summer, but will pick up again in the Fall. We typically have a heat/humidity related pause in pepper production from June-Sept, but usually get Fall/Winter/Spring production.

Carolina Reaper Plant Flowers but No Fruit

Depends on the brand, but it's about 1-2 tbsp/gallon of water, always follow label directions. Spray tops and underside of all the leaves. I've had a few plants that looked fine, but wouldn't set fruit until about a week after the 2nd weekly spraying. It takes time for the plant to take in the...

Carolina Reaper Plant Flowers but No Fruit

Don't apply any nitrogen. Too much nitrogen causes flower drop. Apply liquid minor element spray if it looks yellow or deficient. The magnesium, iron, calcium and manganese will help fruit set.

Oh yeah, neverending whiteflies, mealybugs, scales, thrips, aphids, and mites. It's a constant battle.

    New here from South Florida

Looks like you've got it under control now. Watch for whiteflies, and aphids, it's the season for them. Good luck and don't get discouraged if you don't get many or any pods until the Fall, once the nighttime temps get over 84°, which is coming soon, you won't get any fruit to set. So keep them...

    Brainstorming a Superfood Hot Sauce

What about adding Moringa? I'm not sure how the flavor would work, but it should qualify as a superfood.

    Jabooty F2 comparison

Not yet, as I have only shared the seeds this season, so nobody has had a chance to taste them besides me, and I'm not very good at describing flavors. [emoji848] I've got isolated F3s going from only the brown version. I probably won't continue the red, and so far the smooth form has been seedless.

    Jabooty F2 comparison

Wondering how the light green color shift genetics ended up in the mix. Seems strange that neither parent showed anything similar. Guessing it could be caused by nearly anything, impure original strains, recessive traits, or random mutation...

    Jabooty F2 comparison

My Jabooty, (Brown Bhut x Jamaican Bird) cross has three distinct forms (so far) in F2. A brown bumpy form, a red bumpy form, and a smooth form that goes through a lightgreen to cream-orange color phase before ending up an orange-red color. Pics.

    New here from South Florida

Hey neighbor,. I'm in Sunrise, west of Ft Lauderdale. Where are you? My superhot season is winding down now, but the baccatums and some crosses are still going strong for now. Depending on how far south you are your season could keep going through May, but likely will end by June. That's...
