Here's a pic of the Ghost pepper plants after I cut off all the frost bitten leaves and stems. The leaves were all soft, wilted and black. Hope not hurt. Going to 72° here today and around 50/60° for day lows and around high 40's and low 50's at night all week. One night got them.

Second year for starting peppers from seeds for me, but have started seeds for garden for a few years. So not an expert here, but I think you tried to force grow your seeds to fast and that's what wiped them out. A heat pad by itself should be adequate heat to start your seeds. Heat from the sun...
