    Perfect sense Gassy! That's why I try not to put too much stock in someone elses soil mix or fertilizer regimen, and just keep experimenting til I find what makes my plants happy!

    I also say morugas. The largest pepper plant I've ever grown was a moruga it was 8' and probably 5-6' around, I tried to over winter, but it didn't make it, I still have the dead pruned stem even after I pruned it all to hell, it is still huge! :D

    You actually don't need pollinators! Peppers create what are called perfect flowers, this meaning the have both male and female parts. This is how peppers can grow inside, and how the get pollenated when you wrap the buds w/ tulle or pantyhose to isolate seed stock. Even growing side by side...
