    Trying some compost tea

I agree with you in regards to it filtering some of the beneficial bacteria out from the medium with the use of superfine materials...but microbes are microns thick...I would think they could easily filter through cotton or canvas cloth, silk bags, tea bag material, etc. Have you seen a...

Still the rain kept pourin'... Fallin' on my ears...

Hey guys....What other nurseries offer live plants besides CCN and piedmont? I ususally just buy seeds to start early, but my plants from CCN has opened my eyes to shipped live plants  and the vast possibilities of buying seedlings/transplants. What other places sell pepper plants that...

Cayenne's Guide to Vermicompost a.k.a. WORMS!!!

I have read different things on different reputable cites. Some say that in order to establish a high soil load of beneficials - dosing every 3 to 6 days for a month and then every 45 days. Other sites state every 30 - 45 days during the growing season. Some state to dilute 1:5, some 1:3...

    Ghost dropping peppers?

This last dose of compost (vermicompost with high P & K guanos) really turned mine into pod city. 56 was the count this evening even with all this heavy rain....there were about 20 drops in the container, but approx. 56 with 1/4 inch or longer pods. I do believe I will be compost tea-ing from...

    Trying some compost tea

Yeah, definitely put it in a muslin bag, pillow case, old t shirt, painters bag, just something to hold all the larger particles so that you don't have as difficult a time filtering it, but also, this allows you to suspend your goodies in the bag an allows the bubbles to come up and agitate the...

Do your bhut jolokia set pods in their first season?

Started in February...late. Will be prime harvest time during september and october...These are the most subborn and finicky plants I have ever seen....I've made post elsewhere about the unique genetic makeup that predisposes these plants to pollen, flower, and pod abort fairly easily.

    Trying some compost tea

If it was drier right now I wouldn't even be worried....but with the explosion I had the last two weeks....and this current profound humidity and wet weather...I question just how much of my AACT biofilm remains and how much bad bacterial leaf spot bacteria remains....I'm not gonna do anything...

    Bac Spot?

The two that are scalpred are doing good right now....it's the 23 other containers that i'm sweating for now. Already snapped one of my 7pots from CCN. It was the best looking one too minus the aphid damage...We are definitely not receiving the rain that you guys are, but still getting...

    Ghost dropping peppers?

yeah my bhut dropped around 80 flowers and this week I did an inventory count....got 14 - 1 inch long pods and lots more flowers. Im hoping all this rain doesn't cause a significant loss of the new pods and flowers. Glad you are seeing some pods on yours coach.

    Trying some compost tea

JAH! RasTrent...I bet you reply to posts wearing roller skates and play your DVD of "Cool Runnings" in the background....haha. As for making subsequent batches off the same bags of ingredients....it looks like this one is falling flat. Added the old "goodie" bags to new chlorine free water...

    Ghost dropping peppers?

In my personal experience with growing ghosts the past two years...try can be really finicky. The slightest thing may cause them to abort the flower or new pod. If you look at some of the research done on the ghost by Dave Dewitt and Paul Bosland - flower, bud, and pollen abortion is common...

    Trying some compost tea

Just my opinion, it is going to be just as much work or more to make a small batch as it is a big one. Is it a space thing? Or do you just not have that many plants to dose? You could definitely do it in a smaller bucket with the same equipment.... +1 on fishing4fun2 about air....got to use...

    Trying some compost tea

Anybody know if you can take your bag of goodies from one brew (after it is done) and make another batch with it? I'm gonna be spraying daily due to this tropical clusterf&@$k that's gonna dump some serious rain through Thursday. I think I may just find the bonide citrus fruit an nut spray...
