My guess is a Tien-tsin pepper it's a VERY common pepper in Szechuan providence in China.
Medium hot pepper likely around the same as a thai in my experience.
I too have had some that look like that but not grown by me. I thought they might have been Butch T's but they tasted just like the regular looking 7 pot BS reds so I'm thinking they came from similar stock as you have.
Hard to tell honestly. Some of them resemble my Naga morichs while others look more Bhut like to me The one pointing at the paper that says Bhut Jolokia looks like a bhut as does the one pointing down in the bottom left of the picture. Most of the peppers between those two look like they more...
Yes typically when growing multiple seeds in the same pot you cull the weaker plant(s).
I would really see if you can't separate them still tho. Might not be possible at that stage but it's worth a try I would think as both plants seem to be quite healthy.
My favorites are:
Fatalii for straight pepper to mouth use
Yellow 7 pot and yellow Trinidad Scorpion for sauces
Chocolate Bhut Jolokia and Naga Morich for slicing and putting into food
I have to many favorites but those are on top in those categories.
So let me get this straignt... you will feed me a TS and then I get to play PS3 too... When can I move in :P?
Wow he took that about 10x better than my friend did and he's twice as old lol.
That is a really neat looking pepper. I wonder if the heat/flavor is drastically different between the color phases if you know? Cause I was thinking those would make a pretty uniquely colored powder. Either way I'ld be willing to give them a spot in my garden for testing purposes.
Thanks...
"Fiery: Scotch bonnet is one of the world's hottest varieties of chilli peppers"
Oh how I love the uninformed masses.
Well clearly both the Heroin and Coke did not save him from toppling over in pain so I would have to say it doesn't.
YAY! I got my box today and it was almost bursting it was so stuffed. Also there are more peppers than listed the Scotch bonnet is actually 3 and Jamaican mushrooms which is ok with me, a few Butch T scorpions, as well as a black jalapeno. 27 pods in total and the yellow Bhut Jolokia really...
Hey I got some Aji Dulce from AjiJoe and I don't need all 14 so I could spare half of them if you that's all you need. can't spare any more than that tho I need to grow 2-3 plants for myself next year :P
That looked like it should have had more Fatalii flavour.... Dammned Bhuts overpowering everything they cross with. Awesome looking pod tho can't wait till next year when my garden gets to have a giant pepper field and random crosses like that happen.
I envy all of you in the south with your abundance of tasty looking peppers. And had I not just ordered a Box elsewhere those would have to find there way up here to me. But if I order another box I think my GF would shove one in my mouth while I was sleeping and I just don't see that turning...
Some of those pods look very similar to my Naga Morich pods but others look like they are close to 3x the size and mine never turned yellow either they went straight from Green to red. Not quite as Gnarly either but I think mine are freaks as I've never seen another Morich quite so bumpy, only...
I too would be interested in a few of those seeds. If they prove out to be a stable chocolate cayenne it would be awesome. Personally I really enjoy the Thai dragon cayenne's for a good mix of heat and a bit of sweetness.
Ahh well guess I can go.... say $20. The colours are entrancing :scared:
And bidding small promotes more bids in my experience which usually ends up with a couple people at the end bidding up each other.
