put them in a paper bag with an onion and chip clip it shut for a few days   they should ripen quickly this way, but keep an eye on them checking once and awhile because if you leave them in too long they will rot hope this helps thanks your friend Joe

"Chilhuacle Negro"  for sure, i think this is one of the peppers used to make mole they are probably not very hot

i have about 10 plants of this one growing as we speak,there for my wife mostly, they kinda taste like jalapeno   i would not worry about the variation it seems common to this species and they do suntan, the shape tends to vary too and as long as they dont get crossed with something hot they...
