Here's a pic of salt build up.
I bottom water so the salt is wicked up along with the water and it gets deposited on the surface. This comes off in chunks, mold will just mush together and slide off of the surface. If you're bottom watering don't worry about the surface looking dry. As long...
Shawn if you're referring to the Jobes all purpose stuff in the OP I would say you're not wasting your time. Some of the mycorrhizae should survive. Is there any way to get a peek at your roots? The only way to know for sure is by what your roots look like.
I took some pics of a couple of my...
I hate to say this but I'm probably familiar with more meds than you would think. I have a few physical issues. No worries.
I did in fact do my research prior to going to the hydro store, a man would go nuts if he didn't trying to pick and choose. I would read about some new fert or nutrient or...
Worm castings don't have very much NPK for the most part. It would depend a little on what they were fed I suppose. Most commercial worm castings are in the 0.1-0-0 range for NPK.
Thanks for letting me go on smurfking.
Looking at everything you use that's what I was talking about. When I first started man I was using just about everything I could buy. You look like you've spent a few bucks yourself. All of that stuff isn't necessary. I have little doubt you could stop...
Ahh to soak or not to soak? Doesn't really matter. Done each and the difference was minimal.
As for burying a small piece of paper towel along with the root, done that too and didn't notice any good/bad things being caused by it.
I am sorry for being so negative about what you're trying to do.
I keep thinking about my local hydro store. They must have a couple of hundred, at least, different types of things you can use to fertilize plants that I can't see how anyone could figure out which one is the best for every...
It's really a hit and miss thing with these seeds. Hopefully I'll have some more that will germinate at a better rate at the end of this season. I'll be happy to share them. Check my glog this fall to keep updated.
KG good to hear your making progress. Continued good luck.
spicy-echo when I water I pour enough into the second cup to come up about 1/4 of the way. Then I just set the cup with the plant in it and that is that. I use a large packing peanut that sits between the two cups. That will provide some space for any excess water that isn't wicked up. Three or...
I would think about halfway. That should let you take a few days off between watering. Take a peak at my glog. I use two solo cups. The one with the plant has four holes along the side next to the bottom. That goes into another solo cup and I use a large packing peanut between them to allow for...
Hope I didn't come off as some know it all, apologies if I did.
Smurfking you sound like I did many moons ago when I first started growing peppers. I would read everything I could get my hands on and had a plethora of different types of fertilizers and amendments and additives. My local hydro...
