Ran into a guy with a pet goose out on the lake today. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see him unload it from his truck in a little animal crate. He takes it out with him kayaking and it just follows him around honking.      Gary the goose

  Lemon drops are crazy prolific producers, get absolutely huge given a a large enough container & keep on producing right through the middle of Texas 100+ degree summer. One of my favorite peppers. They don't really grow "tree like" like chinenses though. 

  Having EC too high can cause flower drop, especially if you are using nutrients high in nitrogen. I had this problem on my first hydro grow. Huge, fast growing plants but flowers kept dropping due to overfeeding.

Generally the larger the reservoir the less you will have to dick with it. You will see less pH & EC fluctuation with a larger res compared to a smaller one so larger is definitely better for the most part.   The only downside I can think of to having a gigantic reservoir is that you still need...

Went out picking dewberries this weekend and the spittlebugs were out in full force. Never seen so many of them, pretty much covering every plant in the area that didn't have thorns on it.       Tried to get a pic of the bug inside the spit cocoon but got photobombed by another bug  

So far so good, nothing has died and everything is looking mostly healthy. Azamax & spinosad have done a decent job getting the thrips, aphids and possibly broadmites under control. New growth on most plants looking nice instead of all chewed up. Still haven't had a chance to use my fancy...

  I dunno about weed but I noticed no difference in flavor between peppers grown in hydro or soil. 

Once you see how fast stuff grows in hydro compared to traditional growing methods you will understand why people do it. Plus once you get everything dialed in it's actually less work, most of the stuff is automated & you just have to keep an eye on EC, pH & water level.    Also for a greenhouse...
