I had a red Brain-like offspring pop up among the Yellows I got from Judy a couple years ago, probably just a cross like mine.

Haha, most of its size actually came from its first year. The last couple years have been a bit underwhelming due to weather and other issues.   Pods are like elongate brains, ripen to red. Otherwise nothing particularly noteworthy, so I haven't bothered growing it out.

I'm actually not a huge fan of chinense taste, which is another reason I cut back. I find habaneros to be disgusting, most Trinidad varieties are pretty tasty though.

Yeah, I like them better when dried. Mine looked like yours. The stems weren't particularly sturdy and needed support... more viney than tree-like.

I grew this last year and the pods were pendant. They did indeed start drying on the plant fairly quickly after ripening, what was left is hanging around in simple ristras. Got my seeds from Judy. I agree that they have a great flavor, they're one of my favorite all-purpose peppers.

One thing I'll mention, and it could be coincidence, but all of my crosses popped up after selecting for the strongest seedlings. For example one year 2/3 of my tepins were hybrids, and those 2 were much stronger growers than their brothers and sisters. Same thing happened with my Brain Strain...

Pot size matters the longer your growing season is. If you start late or you have a short growing season, you can probably get away with a smaller pot. However, most years my peppers in 5 gallon pots sort of max out while the ones in the ground keep growing... and growing... and growing... until...
