breeding F1's - Hybrids - making your own crosses...

This cross is in fact the only one from which I have seeds left to offer, 5 pods developed... - so you may try it out if you'd like, just throw me a PM...;) But to see pods you will just have to take a look at the mother variety as the crossing does not affect pod development... Here's a link...

    BEST SWEET PEPPER !!

For a blocky bell type pepper, I would say Giallo di Cuneo, it has a strong pepper flavour and is very sweet and crunchy. I am also growing my own F3/F4 sweet bell peppers from a crossed Rogueland's Red Bell which all have soo much of that strong peppery flavour I am looking for mixed with a...

    Chacoense or Baccatum?

I think there's a problem with the taxonomy - I have seen two flowers on sveral nodes on a baccatum variety named "Francos Aji" I am growing this year... Fruits are very large and heavy, about 1½-twice the size of a Jalapeño I would say... Some pics...

what kind of chile is this ?

I have also noticed flowers with different numbers of petals on varieties that should be and seem stable... Well, due to your flower description we can now exclude the baccatum varieties as they have yellow/green spots on the inside of the petals. Yes, nodes are where the plants branches...

what kind of chile is this ?

Hmmm, sounds great, Chilehunter... Does the plant still produce flowers and how many pods per node, I can't tell for sure from the photo...(?) I am thinking it could be a baccatum, maybe Aji Amarillo or something a bit alike...

what kind of chile is this ?

Judging by the growth habit and leaves of the plant, I would say definitely not Bulgarian Carrot, I think leaves on your plant look more like a chinense... Furthermore, my Bulgarian Carrot fruits that are not that deep orange, mine also seem smoother. BUT, could also just be a different...

breeding F1's - Hybrids - making your own crosses...

Not my understanding, but I have been wrong before...:) But coming to think of it, I believe I once read that for F1 seed production you would need 2 stable varieties to make sure every seed turned out alike, but again, this wasn't the aim of making a cross...? - maybe a real expert could...

    real Guajillo?

I grew Guajillo once and they were also growing pendant fruits that looked about the same as yours - I'd say why not give them a chance, you may have a nice strain there...:)

Chinense varieties suitable for northern gardeners

Pam, my Limon is also doing quite well in the greenhouse and has set several pods, the big question is whether they will mature before night frost sets in... Haven't tried this one before - could you say something about flavour, can Limón keep up with the classics like for instance Antillais and...

:mouthonfire: Yeah, Guitar God, if you should ever move to another state or country, you'll know and wouldn't have to give up on pepper growing... Seriously, I hope that North American gardeners living in say Minnesota or even Alaska could get some useful ideas and maybe they could give me good...

breeding F1's - Hybrids - making your own crosses...

This depends on what you want to create - I will not be crossing more than once - after this it will each year all be about growing a number of plants from selfpollinated seeds from the best plant(s) from previous season. If you choose to pollinate say a F2-plant with one of the initial parents...

    Introducing.... THE PIQANO!!!!!

Yeah, Mark, I know what you meant... Just spotted a chance to dust off the old violin, cause it really is sooo hard for me to grow peppers...;) Even though you don't speak Danish, I think you got the point - your winter is almost as hot as our summer and you get a lot of sun too... And...
