i too first saw slayer when kerry king had hair... to date myself even further... i saw GWAR's first show and saw Brent Hinds of Mastodon when he played in a rockabilly band.
i'm on the other end of the stick on this one... i am a produce farmer by trade and sell some csa shares to help jumpstart things in the spring. most are individual pick up at the farmer's market but i also have one office i deliver a number of them to.
i don't recommend them if you are not...
45 degrees is no problem.
peppers will be survive down to freezing as long as it doesn't stay down there very long. tops of plants will get blasted but stuff under the canopy will be ok providing the canopy is thick.
i'm definitely growing fewer varieties next year as well. i started this year with 107 but am down to 80 or so... would like to land at about 50 for next year.
i use a smoker made from an old freezer all the time but i do cold smoking with the heat source outside of it. i don't think the plastic would take to hot smoking inside. i also think your kerosene would tend to flavor anything you smoked.
i've got primos in the ground (which appear true to type) and will start a few of my reapers shortly with those to go in the greenhouse. i'll probably dig up a primo to overwinter for better comparison as well.
more likely it's just showing off its mixed up trinidad genetics. douglah is effectively a seven pot brown to begin with.
sure, i'll give it a shot. pm me.
looks like a seven pot to me... i've had seven pot plants put off both brown and red pods from the same plant depending on environmental conditions.
personally, i think the douglahs taste like battery acid dipped in napalm.
