Who remembers this from when you were a kid?

I really didn't start reading Asimov until a few years ago, but as I did, I kept flipping to the publication dates, as the concepts seemed Very prescient to me.

What the heck is this?? Photos

I'm sure somebody has tried it in the past… " it's utterly harmless to people, pets and plants. In fact, Fuligo septica is edible. Native people in some parts of Mexico gather it and scramble it like eggs. I hear they call this dish "caca de luna," which I will let you translate for yourself...

Who remembers this from when you were a kid?

Never did get into the Hardy Boys.  I have this completionist mindset and never could find the first one.  What this thread reminded me of, however, was a series that I was introduced to when I was 6, The Boxcar Children: For a younger audience than the Hardy Boys, I think, but the first book...

    fermenting chsy83's first pepper ferment

Put the yellow through the food mill last weekend, and froze 2.25 gallons of what I am calling Yellow sauce base.  Still deciding on how to finish it all, but thinking of putting the 0.25 into a barbecue sauce. As I was food-milling, the smell was awesome . . . like a barbecue . . . or a...

HUGE mystery weed, any idea what it is?

Leaf structure is similar to Burdock . . . but clusters at top are dissimilar . . . If Burdock, which has a taproot, root is edible.

    Hardening off in poor weather..

I pretty much agree with what has been said so far.  The only thing that I would worry about would be UV exposure, just putting them out.  Depends on what they have seen so far.

Training for a half and eventual full marathon

    1. Next time, I don't want to start so far back. I started in the 39th out of 40 corrals. There were two water stations that had run out of cups. 2. Wear a hat. And sunscreen. Ouch. 3. Wear band aids or electric tape on your nipples. I had bloody spots on my shirt. Ouch.

Training for a half and eventual full marathon

Ah, being my first one, and really, my first ever running engagement, I was happy finishing. I learned some things for the next time, though. I enjoyed it, and am planning on making it a regular thing. It was the half, 4:03.
