I'm throwing in with the others: change in environment. Generally, you harden plants off by incrementally exposing them to the sun light by increasing amounts, so as to minimise the shock.

Yes, likewise for me. Definitely a range of sizes, it's all been a bit of a shambles this year, hoping we get some good weather here late in season. I'll be setting up my grow room soon, too, so plenty more room. About 70 plants in at the moment, 40-50 of which are in the ground. :)
