Loved all the entries, but you got my vote SOMB ... it appealed to my sense of humour/interpretation You came a close second "DQ that just *had to enter* after spending $100+ on ingredients" ... very imaginative ;) Even last place beat all my ideas :( ¥

Good luck with it all. If you lived closer, or even on this side of the pond, I'd happily come and help you plant up. Nothing beats seeing a patch of land going from "brown and empty" to "fully planted up and growing". I get a buzz from it every year ;) ¥

Excuse the double post : Peas / sugarsnaps / etc ... start them in a length of guttering ( at correct spacings ), then, when you're ready to plant out, make a furrow and slide them out of the guttering into it. Saves loads of time ;) It's meant to be easiest/best if you water them first. ¥

That's fair enough. Our beds are rotovated enough to plant just using your hands and we've already setup row markers and slapped stakes in ( all our plants are staked ), so that makes things a lot faster. On a blinding day we can hit 10secs a plant. ¥

Assuming "transplant" means "planting out" 500 plants is a doddle in a day, you can easily plant out 100+/hr manually, we do it every year ;) ¥

We use a "similar" setup ( no seat :( ), but we have source tray on left ( plants to be potted on ), empty tray on right ( destination tray ), and empty pots behind your compost. ¥

Get your facts straight @link waricks response to naga testing I live in GB ( which isn't GBoR ;) ), personally I couldn't give a toss which chilli was in GBoR, I grow for taste not a certificate on my wall saying "yay yabs, yer growing the hottest hybrid there is!" ¥

Biggest lesson I learnt last year was overwatered seedlings react the same as underwatered seedlings ... they die ... now I deliberately underwater, for me, and they mostly live ... even if they *do* think I'm still overwatering them ;) ¥

I found growbags a pita to water properly. Nip into your local Morissons and grab some of the black pots ( 8 for 99p ), they much easier to play with in the greenhouse and make staking simple ;) If you like runner beans you could sow a row along the north side of one of you raised beds and grow...
