In Queensland, Australia
Yep, the ground is where I grow. I have some in pots, they are only 3 feet. I have a worm composter - Click on link below.

Love the worm juice. Here's the proof of the growth boosting value. My Congo Blacks and Bhut Jolokias are way over my head high.
In this photo, my Congo is almost to the garage roof gutter. Bhut's down the back yard are the same.
Well, had to do it.
I descided the only way to find out which was hotter was to eat both of these pods.
steps taken:-
Put whole pod in mouth
Chew it all up for 5 to 10 seconds
Swallow.

Trinidad scorpion - Well oh my....this hurt real bad. Milk did nothing to stem the sting. Pain...
I have found that they always go way better the second season. Your plants are still 1st year juveniles  Also..you can gets runts in the chillie litters
Hmmm,
I posted to this from the shortcut and yet can't see it here,
Anyhow, like I said in the other section. PM me your addy and I'll get some to you. I also have some killer Douglahs, many agree that they hurt more than Trinnies.
I ditched the chem ferts for organic. A big difference within 3 months
Now i use worm juice (run off from worm farm) and some seaweed.
My plants are up to 6 feet tall and raging hot. How hot you ask. I ate a small Douglah and it caused the most pain i have ever felt. for 4 hours my guts felt...
Looks like they are just mis-shapped pods. A new green one popped out towards the back hiden under a few leaves and its the typical T'Scorpion shape.
Call this one "BUSTED"
Wind rain storm etc and me forgets what I planted.
Any how they have all grown up and one bush I cannot identify...the rest scorpions etc are no problems identifying. This one could be one of these:-
A Jonah
A Barrackpore
A trinidad scorpion. I thought it was a trinnie. but it is not...
Buying it....pffeh. $60 for a farm and you only need $28 for 500 worms. The instructions say 1000 minimum - I guess that makes better sales, but not sence. They breed like......worms. My farm fills 2 x 1 litre bottles a week. I can't even use that much so I give it to freinds etc.
Only the run off - you wet the top, colect from the bottom. It takeas a long time to fill the tray - bet yes after you start on tray 2 and all the worms move to the top. You then can use the castings
here is the worm farm

Just like my last post (I showed oversized Lemon Aji's and Bonda Ma Jacques), these Congo Black's are larger than usual thanks to my worm farm investment.
and the plants are loaded
Lemon Aji's are big azz. Worm juice seems to be doing its thang!
And my Bond Ma Jaques after pruning have come back better than ever
Crappy over exposed shot, but nice Choc Habs eh
LOL talk about over dramatization. Some one who was actauly there tells how it was nothing more than a curtasy ride from the ambulance driver to get some alkaselzer....sort off
