    media jiffy pellets

I use those jiffy pellets for a lot of plants. I've done many varieties of hot peppers, beans, tomatoes, lettuce, even pumpkins. They're actually pretty impressive performers. Just don't let them grow too big because they have a habit of allowing roots to easily invade other pellets.

    A Mighty Wind!

I'm shocked that my little 4x8 greenhouse hasn't toppled over. Tomorrow will be another test of its durability. I've checked the stakes every day and they're surviving. In northern Ohio we haven't gad too many 40+ gusts but a lot of constant wind. Nothing quite like what you've gone through...

    Hello from Charleston!

Welcome from Ohio. 14 isn't too many. It's not enough! Lol. Don't worry, up to about 30 varieties myself, and many on here are likely doing much more.

Can you grow chile peppers on an apartment balcony?

No doubt. You shouldn't have any problems getting them going. I believe there's quite a few balcony growers on this site who could probably give you a few extra pointers.

    When to start feeding

I gave mine some epsom salt here an there starting when they were a little over a month old. I added bone meal to the soil when I repotted them. They seem to love both and are getting huge.

    Ready For Spring.. Peppers Started

Repotted my first batch, reset the lighting, and labelled em all. Took forever but is well worth it. They're coming along great. Making the chains adjustable on the fly helps a great deal.

My idiot boss just chilli pranked me

The tp idea is vicious and brutal... and good. Always have a batch of pepper powder handy. You can hide it in any food or drink. Just ask my nephew :hell:

    Ready For Spring.. Peppers Started

I got it from my mother in law. She orderred it from some catalogue, not sure which. I have yet to find out what brand it is. The fabric feels sturdy, but my only fear is hail.. And I hope it's never realized.

    Ready For Spring.. Peppers Started

Keeps mine out. But my cat's fat and wouldn't have a prayer crawling under the fabric. But it does have ties and stakes for when I put it outside. I wouldn't rely on it keeping out wild critters though. ----- Trimmed back the seedlings today. Apparently 3 seeds to a pot to my nephew meant 11...

    BEER!

Had the Hoppin Frog BORIS a few months ago. Very good stuff. Been drinking Great Lakes Conway's Irish Ale all month long. Well apart from the hooneybrown and coors light for the Super Bowl. Cheap beer for company.

    Ready For Spring.. Peppers Started

Yea I started waaay early. I just couldn't wait any longer. My first peppers germinated on Dec 23rd. I planted them Dec 20th. I started the second wave 2 weeks ago. A third batch will be done in early March. The greenhouse is a wonderful starter model. Surprising sturdy as well and fits right...

    Ready For Spring.. Peppers Started

Thank goodness for the feeling that spring should be right around the corner. I can't deal with another foot of snow and these 50+ degree (F) days have been wonderful. Anyway, this year's peppers should be much more abundant this year thanks to PepperLovers pleasant selection and the few I...

    BEER!

Haven't bought anything snazzy this month. Went with the old faithful Killians. Probably one of the best big beers out there. And cheaper too!
