pests How to Kill Aphids Like an Extreme O.G.

the cheapest I have found lacewings is around $70 for 2000 eggs, pretty pricey considering you can get 1000 lady bugs for half that.

misc What to feed ladybugs besides aphids?

if anybody tries POTAWIE's recipe for ladybug food, don't leave your sprayer out in the sun for a few days with the mixture in it, it may either blow up, or spray out like a fire hose. I experienced the latter thankfully.

Picked up a nice caribbean red plant today

Looks awesome for $10. I would be careful with introducing a nursery plant into your garden though. I have gotten both aphid and spider mite infestations from nursery bought plants. I find it easier now to just grow everything from seed.

sounds like more work than I care to partake in, I'll just keep buying a new batch each season, maybe try lacewing larvae next year as well.

misc What to feed ladybugs besides aphids?

I'm trying my hand at raising some ladybugs. I purchased 1000 online and released about 600-700 on my garden of 16 containers over the past week. My aphid problem is under control now, the ladybugs that are still around and their larvae are chowing down on the remaining aphids. This leaves me...

favorite What is your favorite tasting pepper?

I really like the taste of red brain strains, that is, until the heat knocks the wind out of me. I'm gonna have to try to make my own brain strain sauce I think

    water AC Watering?

Lead in soldier forms a crust of calcium over it inside the pipe which basically seals off the lead from the water. A lot of cities have old lead water service pipes running to people's houses with no ill effects. As was said above, refrigeration coils are brazed with silver solder, no lead present.

What do you use to strain your compost tea for use in a spray bottle?

I use an old sock, seems to work for me. I take the solids I strain out and mix them into the soil of the plants after, no sense wasting them.

    Black tips on habs.

looks like blossom end rot. which in my case was caused by the soil drying out too much and locking out nutrients (mainly calcium). Don't let them wilt before you water and it should go away.

    Pet Word Peeves

I hate when people say " I drank 12 beer last night". It's 12 beers, as in plural. It's not the same singular/plural noun as deer or moose, no matter how many times ou say it.

New Grower (trinidad scorpion butch t)

Peppers aren't photoperiod plants, you can keep them on 18/6 the whole time. My bad on the bone meal issue, I thought the other poster was referencing a calcium deficiency. It is a great soil additive, just don't expect immediate results. Keep in mind though, you are using high quality soil...
