Sure, that's how my volunteer plants come up the next year. But I guess they have time to slowly break down in the soil. But it is fine to cut them open, you might cut one seed here or there, but shouldn't be a problem. Unless you only have one pod. Then, maybe just tear it open.

Try it on every available flower until it works. I learned last season that the success rate can be very low, even though sometimes you get lucky. And that cross is going to be gnarly as h££ after seeing your parent plants!

Well, right now, at F1, they mostly just look exactly like the Cumari Pollux, if not with very slightly larger fruit. I was worried seeing one of the Cumari Pollux mother crosses, thinking it didn't actually work, and was just self pollinated. But, one of the Lemon Drop mother crosses started...

   Last year I crossed Cumari Pollux with Aji lemon drop, Aji Amarillo, Aji Ahuachapan. I wonder why wild types have dominant genes. Do you have any articles to link that would explain that?

What are the Cumari Pollux crosses you're growing like? Or did you just make the cross this year? I'm growing out a few this year, and it seems the praetermissum genes are extremely dominant in the F1 stage. I thought maybe some weren't actually properly crossed at first. But, even when...

The cut pods are probably fine because they dried so much quicker than the whole pods. I wouldn't dry pods whole without a dehydrator, even then I would probably pierce a few holes in them. I would start cutting them in half before drying. It's what I do with my dehydrator, and I, myself...
