No pics but 1/3 of my golden cayenne plant snapped off today. Not sure what happened. It wasn't all that windy and I don't think my dog did it. It might have been the wind in combination with the weight of the pods. Who knows. This season isn't terrible or anything. But all these little...
To be honest it is hard to say. From what I have found in the past it is a mixed bag. You might find your nutrients cheaper on one site but the grow light cheaper on the site that had the higher priced nutrients. I had a pretty good experience with these guys but you might find some of the...
Potted plants look great. Don't worry about them dropping flowers. As you pointed out, when they do set they will be larger and as a result hold more pods. Keep up the good work.
I am not sure what is going on with your raised beds. We have a very different climate and I do not use a...
I don't really have too much of an update but I did make a bunch of isolation bags yesterday. I was getting tired of the small ones I have used the past 2 seasons. So...I made these big boys.
It took me quite a while because I don't exactly sew every day. They aren't the prettiest but...
I tried a piece of one last night and it lit me up. My eyes were watering a little and my head was sweating. Regular run of the mill C.Chinense flavor. No throat burn. It was concentrated on the tongue especially the tip. This was the first piece of pod I have tried this season so keep that...
I try to isolate varieties I plan to grow again. Two seasons ago the Yellow 7 was the only plant I couldn't get to set pods in the isolation bags. Hopefully this years seeds grow true and I can isolate for future seasons.
Thanks. I wish I could have captured the appearance of those roots better. They almost had a pearl like look to them. I felt bad chopping 90% of them off.
Thanks. I love raised bed gardening. I am not the best container grower so the beds seem fail proof.
I had a similar experience. I brought some dried Red 7 Pods into work for a friend. Like you, I warned him. He apparently thought it would be a good idea to chew up a piece on his break. He had to leave work to buy milk and bread. He almost went home for the day.
I think it is one of those...
That orange hab certainly does look healthy. It also looks like you have some nice varieties sprouting there. Are these all going to be grown in your window sill? Just go do some guerrilla gardening down in that courtyard.
I agree with Mill. You may want to make a pile and then spread it on your garden in the Fall after you have removed your plants. Sounds like a nice score though.
Yea once you get use to everything it becomes quite easy. Plus, depending on your setup, you can leave and not worry about the plants drying out and dying.
