    SV's 2010 Garden List

The rabbit wire in the first photo was temporary, I installed it with treated posts leaving me about 4' surrounding the beds but was a huge pain in the butt and the string trimmer constantly snagged the wire. It kept the rabbits out but the dang squirrels were a bigger problem, I was constantly...

    SV's 2010 Garden List

Howdy! 2009 I have grown some Orange Habanero’s and Jalapeno's in flowerbeds or buckets over the last ten years but I started my first garden last year. Three 4x8x8 raised beds with horse manure and a garden mix from the local dirt place. I ordered a variety of seedlings from CC Nursery but...

No HEAT from any of my peppers...

I will check into the tomato feed Badger. This coming Spring I will also have beds dedicated to my pepper plants rather than mixed in with the other vegetables that did well. I should have taken pictures but I didn't.

No HEAT from any of my peppers...

LGHT, I bought the transplants from a nursery up in the northeast, even though the plants arrived in poorer shape than my order a few years back (leggy, yellowing), I see no reason to put their name in this thread for an issue that is most certainly the gardener. I believe all the transplants...

No HEAT from any of my peppers...

Potawie, I agree, it's the gardener and I am going to have a talk with him :D The oddball is the Billy Biker's, they were hot for jalapenos but only the first batch, maybe a few of the second batch and then the plants went lame. It's no big deal, this is for fun but I don't want a repeat...

No HEAT from any of my peppers...

Richard, I fertilized with Miracle Grow, 5 gallon buckets at a time mixed per the instructions for vegetables. I did not supplement this with any other nutrients. All the Hab's were growing in the same bed as the pickling cucumbers that were growing so fast and producing so heavy that I had...

No HEAT from any of my peppers...

That may be one area to look at. My soil was draining very well and I remember from some of my reference books, "pepper plants don't like wet feet". I only fertilized twice with Miracle Grow.

No HEAT from any of my peppers...

My mistake, I checked my notes and the Bhut did not produce, I was thinking about the Peperoncini.

No HEAT from any of my peppers...

Howdy, thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, SV1000 as in Suzuki...my dream bike after my daughters finish high school. The Tabasco, Lemon and Orange Hab's were ripe, the Red Savina green, the Bhut was starting to color, the NuMex's were huge but green. they were the hottest NuMex listed on the...

No HEAT from any of my peppers...

...first post but hopefully there is an easy answer to my problem. I built three 4x8 2x10 raised beds this year and planted a variety of vegetables that included carrots, tomatoes, spinach, onions, radishes, cucumbers, lettuce and of course peppers. Beds had 8+ hours of full sun daily. Bed mix...
