You can grow year round down here ... just shade them during the hot summer and cover on the very few chilly nights in winter. I had to move mine on the portch to get them out of the sun till I can get a shade screen or umbrella up for them.

Finally, I have the same thing and took a leaf to my Extension office and they told me mealybugs. I never accepted that answer but could never find pics to find a culprit. Soap shouldn't have any fragrance or antibacterial in it. Think Prehesile uses tick and flea soap. Other people use neem oil with the soap and water. Hope that helps.   Angie

It's getting to hot here for me.... all my pods are dropping off like flies. Need to get a shade screen over them and hope that helps.

DE doesn't work well for me here in S. FL. It's just to humid all the time, it doesn't even have to rain. Sucks cause I have a BIG box of the stuff.

I use nothing but rainwater. I have a bunch of HD 5gl buckets and 2 32 gal garbage cans collecting it. There are times when we can go a month without rain down here in S. FL. My only real problem is mosquitoes.
