congrats on your successes there dot dude
the warm feeling one gets from seeing fruits of labors
is better than wetting your pants by a whole lot
when are you going to start the 'second generation' of those peróns?
(please start some more and report back)
i think "no time like the...
so here is the $24,000 question is this a cross or is this a mutation
not enough front info if you had a serrano growing near the thai i would blame the serrano
did the giant plant seem to be fuzzier than the "normal" size plants you grew?
was the mama plant grown by you or someone else?
be careful to get light tubes to fit the fixture
not sure if the ones linked above will work together (pin and clearance issues?))
found and bought white fixture and two bulbs that do fit at wally's for $10.97 and $6.14 respectively
now i gots more lumens i think that is betterer
edited for typo
i have one and it seems to work for me
i think
you should get one for your mat
you can use some toweling or other such insulating materials and put the mat on for a colder grow room
use the humidity dome on your seed tray to keep them warmer might help
any insulation you provide will help you...
and so, it begins
you can start off pretty affordable
two really basic things for indoor seedling lights are:
a timer
some fluorescent light
if i was going for a small start up
would get 48" T12 or T8
walmart for shop light ± $10...
do not be confined to "accepted" timings
be an adventurer
everyone will get variable results even all started at exact same moment
the plants only 'know' how to do one thing and do not own a calendar or clock
try something "radical" and be a 'pioneer'
:fireball:
never any blisters noticed
but it seems there may have been itchy irritation from some stem juices
maybe like ficus sap reaction but i ain't as "sensitive" as some
no nothing below the belt
get your mind out of the gutter
remember the general public refers to peppers "burning" even without...
make sure to eat the area between the stem and the seeds that is the best part
we all have to try to find some surrogates at some point
the red head looks like she might go for a little ' chili pepper '
only one way to find out
if you replace the bulbs you need to buy 16 of them?
what cost each?
sounds like you could spend $160 or so more
without enough info about what you got already
you probably should wait and see
rather than spend as much as possible
maybe buy 2 or three and see if you can get any improvement...
"looking for any tips"
welcome to the pepper growing community
please set up a few of your 'growing stations'
as "organic" the best way to find out what will work out
how and what will work
best is for you to try it and
learn things the 'hard' way
soil amendments for your "five acres" sounds...
might try a thermostat for the heatmat
some things work well
please try lots of things for yourself and 'find out the hard way'
if you do not try there ain't no learnin'
take a look at concrete mixing tubs
at the homus depots
http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202086173/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053
or lowe's
i think they are like $5
or try 'bus trays' at restaurant depot
shape and function more important than looks
you are on the track to do terrible things to your plants
if you mix 0-10-10 with equal parts 5-1-1 you will then have ±2.5-5.5-5.5
if you use 1-1-1 fertilizer at ten times strength i believe you 'get' 10-10-10
and if you use 20-20-20 at half strength you 'get' 10-10-10 but i ain't...
looks like the lights needs to be lots closer
maybe 6" to start would be a whole lots betterer
nice deep green color
and the fataliis seemed to me to take a long time to sprout
and the related baccatums i tried took long time too
