Ive been using clear plastic cups, just because they were readily available for theft from a water cooler. Thought it pretty cool that I can see the root ball forming which lets me know when to pot on. No problems as yet.

I have similar, though not as bad on around a third of my plants. Have also read that some calcium could do the trick. Any tips on how to add some calcium? Also, some plants have this effect that have been treated exactly the same as those that look OK. What is that about?

What do you guys mean when you say a plant is stable/unstable?

They only have there seed leaves, all the way up to them then, id usually wait until they are larger. I guess I could plant them low ish in the pot (plastic coffee cup) so when they grow taller I could add compost?
