Cherokee Purple does well for me. Looks identical to Black Krim, another favorite.

I grew them a couple of years ago here in South Carolina. They did well and were very productive. Just treat them the same as other annuums.

I want to make my own Kimchi, and from the reading I've done, Gochugaru appears to be the best variety to use. Can anyone confirm this? Or tell me what I should be using? Kimchi in a grilled cheese sandwich is killer.

If you have to resort to surgery, try using extremely sharp scissors (I have very sharp kitchen shears) and snipping off a tiny fragment of the seed casing on the opposite side from the shoot. This, combined with keeping the casing moist, can help the cotyledons bust on out of there. Instead of...
