    I grew them a couple of years ago here in South Carolina. They did well and were very productive. Just treat them the same as other annuums.

    I want to make my own Kimchi, and from the reading I've done, Gochugaru appears to be the best variety to use. Can anyone confirm this? Or tell me what I should be using? Kimchi in a grilled cheese sandwich is killer.

    If you have to resort to surgery, try using extremely sharp scissors (I have very sharp kitchen shears) and snipping off a tiny fragment of the seed casing on the opposite side from the shoot.     Mike, I'm to the west of you in Oconee County, near Walhalla. I think we've been in touch before. Have you got your plants started yet? I've got small seedlings that are going outdoors when the temperature gets near 70. That won't be this weekend!
