We lost a great songwriter to Coronavirus yesterday.

rockstar has nailed it. I find it easy to pick up the seed on the point of a kitchen knife and deposit it in a small hole in the growing medium, sprout side down of course.

I always enjoy watching for new seedlings to break through. Probably check several times a day. Anybody else guilty?

Thanks for the info Holly. You know your cast iron! I haven’t seen one of those late Griswold DOs. Interesting to know they stopped assigning numbers to the different sizes and went with volume.

Thanks! The top diameter nails it down. I believe that is a No. 8 oven. But you make a good point, it is all pretty flexible.

Thanks! I’ll have to figure out which number corresponds to that. I’ve got Griswold DOs in sizes 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, so I know I’ve got it covered. The makers, such as Griswold and Wagner, usually put the number on the bottom. If push comes to shove, I’ll measure out 4 quarts of water.

Can anyone identify these peppers? They came from a Vietnamese couple. Her mother brought dried flaked peppers from Vietnam. I don’t expect it is anything special, but if they use it I assume they are good to cook with. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
