    media Peat Pucks?

i'm using jiffy's this year & now have some nice 'n healthy plants developing.used heated props & as long as you keep your eye on them they should be ok.just don't overwater.germination has been between 5 days & 4 weeks depending on the variety.

seeds Newbie Seed Starter with Questions

to add to this, last year i pre-soaked a load of seeds, colour-coded them etc etc, & not one germinated! a colossal waste of time. also, when you come to pot-on your seedlings, make sure you handle them gently by the cotyledons (seedling leaves) & never by the stems, as that will inevitably kill...

    seeds Seed Shelf-Life

i've grown seeds that were a few years old, also some from frozen/defrosted, which all turned out ok.so long as they're not rotten, they should be fine.

    ¿Those little hats?

it's generally known to sow seeds at least 1/2" deep so that the seedling can jettison the seed pod.if the seedling emerges with the pod over the cotyledons it's a good idea to let it throw off the pod on it's own, as fiddling with tweezers etc can & usually will, damage the seedling/tear one or...

    media Jiffy Pellets

i usually remove the netting as i sow 2 or 3 seeds in each pellet.as each then contains 2-3 good seedlings, i really need to cut the membrane to separate the seedlings to pot on anyway.

i couldn't imagine a week without at least one good curry dish! we occasionally go to a local restaurant, but they're a bit haphazard with their menus etc, so the best Indian meals we eat are "chez nous", i.e. at home.i cook a mean curry if i say so myself & love experimenting with ingredients &...
