    My First Hab Pods

As some of you already know this is my first year growing peppers. I started in my office but found aphids on my plants and the flowers just kept falling off. So Iv'e taken them home to get them some natural light and see if the insects would help pollinate them as well as get rid of the aphids...

    pests Aphids?

I took this plant home about 3 weeks ago and put it outside. This one was growing along side the plant with the aphids which is growing on a window sill in my office, I have no idea how the little buggers found that plant on the second floor of an office building, anyway, I took one of the...

    pests Aphids?

You want to hear something weird?! I saw one of the aphids shoot a drop of clear liquid off his ass onto the pollen part of the flower (don't know what those little purple dealies are called) when I was watching it under the microscope. WTF WAS THAT!!!?!!

    pests Aphids?

I took this photo through a microscope. These little critters are sitting in the flowers of my Hab peppers. I suspect they are why its not producing. Are these aphids?

My Habs Are Budding! My Habs Are Budding

I'm using a Sun Blaster 6400K full spectrum (coil type bulb). I have found that the plants grow extremely well under the light but they do not bud. If I take them out from under the light and put them on the window sill to get them some natural sunlight, they start to bud and flower.

    seeds Germinating at work

Just had my first pepper ripen. My Habs are also doing quite well for being inside. I took one home and set it outside. I'm curious how it will do I think it's still getting over the transplant shock.

    Question About Pepper Plant Flowers

I just ate a tiny piece of the dried pepper above to see how hot it was and burned the CRAP outta my lips. This little thing is on par with a hot Hab.

FINALLY, after much waiting my Habs are starting to bud and flower. I have been growing them here on my desk at work under and grow light. I also alternate them to the window sill over the weekend when I can't leave the light on. I'm all FIRED UP! :onfire:

DOT, THAT'S AWESOME! How long did it take for the pepper to turn red? I mean from the time it sprouted. Seems like it's been a month or two.

    Habanero Adventure

I have had good luck using a 23 watt 1430 lumens 6400k full spectrum light. The bulb package says Sun Blaster. I usually just leave the light on while I'm at work, generally about 8 hrs(since that's where my plants are). Every now and then (once every couple of weeks) I'll put them on the window...

    Habanero Adventure

My only advice as a new pepper grower myself is, be ready to wait. I planted two types of peppers about a week apart. The larger plant is a Thai pepper plant and the two other photos are of a cluster of 3 habs and a single hab plant. One of the triplets is just now budding where as the Thai...

seeds Germinating experiment: cups vs bags

Give this a shot.......I use basically the same method but on top of the paper towel in the cup I put potting soil and then set the seeds on the soil. I kust make sure the soil is kept moist. Also I dont close them in with a lid. I'd like to see if they germ faster in soil.

    seeds Germinating at work

Actually Iv'e germ'd several plants this way. They seem to do really well I generally just keep the soil damp. I'll re-pot soon though.
