My 4 year old Jalabanero plant

Yes, I cross pollinated a Jalapeno Plant with a Habanero 5 years ago. This is the soul survivor from that cross. It's a nice cross taste between a Jalapeño and Habanero The first year I put it in the basement and used regular florescent lights to give it enough light. Once it was warm enough...

Thank You! Weather and conditions were just perfect that year.... I will tell you though, I picked over 2,000 peppers off of it and never did pick all of them... I was literally picking 100 peppers off of it everyday when they were ripening.

    First Tabasco Pepper

Tabasco peppers are awesome! I am kind of mad I didn't plant any of them this year, but the way 1/2 of my plants are growing, they probably wouldn't be doing that well anyway. One of mine from 2 years ago

    My first decent harvest

I pollinated the Jalapeño with a Habanero in 2005 and planted the seeds in 2006. Due to a dumb move and listening to "The Garden Guy" on TV I lost almost every plant I had started that year from a very late frost, the F1 Jalabañero I have was the only surviving one from 9 started. Nearly died...

    BWW's Blazin wings

I used to go there every week when they were down the street from me and had 25 cent wing night. This was before I started growing my own peppers. I'd order the hottest all the time. There were even employees that got mad because I didn't react like most did. They even used to give 3 free wings...

The Trunk of the plant! I have had many people ask if it's some sort of Banzai Pepper tree.... I forgot a quarter or dime to compare size, but eh.... Right before I picked all the ripe ones, here's hoping it produces this well next year (hope I can keep it alive another winter)

    Can you eat pepper leaves?

I've used the rest of the plant after it has dried out as smoking wood to cook. Just once you put it on for smoking..... run away and stay away till it's done smoking.... It adds a nice distinct flavor too your food!

    Planting out...A month away

Thanks! The Jalabañero F1 is now on it's 3rd year! The peppers have a really good mixture flavor of a Jalapeño and a Habanero. Hotter than a Jalapeño and some pods exceeded Habanero heat! Cmpman was sent a pepper late last year, he is the only other person on this forum that has tried a fresh...
