Had to travel in May, so I just left the aphids to feast on my plants...and I come back to find that nature has done her work. Lady bug larvae and aphid midge larvae have been feasting on the aphids...

I recently adopted 4 pinguiculas. Impressed with their performance already.
They're really tiny, so I guess I'm going to need more, but at least it makes it easier to place them.
lol, my normal 2 cots are more than making up for that disappointment.

Responses seem to vary to different kinds of stress though--this is totally anecdotal, but my plants have been subjected to rather cold weather this year.
Definitely suffering from cold stress, the stems have pigmented turning purplish black. Lots of flower drop and low pod production.

Why not? But some questions that come to mind.
Is the fence tall+solid enough+facing a direction that would block out needed light?
Are there any issues with what's on the other side of the fence? Traffic? Compacted soil? Water-logged? Pest-infested weeds?
Is your property on a windy ridge or...
Problem w/ CFLs is you have a point source shedding light 360x360°. Sure you can make a nice reflective hood to channel the light (plenty of tutorials on youtube).
But I would think that T8s come out on top in terms of installation costs + time + replacement costs + utility bills, without going...
