KingLeerUK GLOG 2015 - "time to make the powders"

Easing into the weekend with a few progress  pics:   Datils with a bit of sunburn     Jeepers creepers, where'd you get those Reapers?   Reapers...  reapers everywhere...     I have my first fully-ripe 7 Pot Brain Strain Yellow     So.Many.Starfish.     Not a pepper, but worthy of some...

dan5505's 2015 Grow Log **Lots of Pictures**

It seems crazy to have pods on small indoor plants like that, but I wouldn't complain!   The thick, brown stem on the overwinter is pretty typical.  Most of my overwinters did the same thing, but not quite as robust as yours.  If you plant that one outside it will probably become a monster.

KingLeerUK GLOG 2015 - "time to make the powders"

4 pods from a single node on this Primo     Now I'm starting to get some extra-spiky lobed Brazilian Starfish   There are so many pods on this plant that it's drooping to the ground; I'll need to stake it.     Fully-ripe Reapers keep coming.     Extremely lobed Bishop's Crown

    A "Teachable Moment..."

A variation on the classic story...   Last year I received a large bag of red bhut seeds from Pex.  So one evening I was putting seeds in to paper towels to pre-soak prior to planting.  Knowing that the oil on the seeds can be pretty noxious I used tweezers to handle and even wore gloves during...

    Is this a chocolate hab?

The picture looks very Brain Strain or perhaps even an early Chocolate Scorpion.  I'd vote *not* a Douglah because despite being heavily ridged and folded they typically don't have this much bumpiness.

KingLeerUK GLOG 2015 - "time to make the powders"

As promised, a bit of visual update to close out the weekend:     Rather large Naga Morich pods, I suppose these are ready... I'm not.     7 Pot Brain Strain Yellows becoming... yellow.  It won't be long now.   Did I mention that this plant has something like 30+ pods on it?     The Bishop's...

lighting Best Color Temperature Fluorescent Lighting

I'll just state up front that I know fluorescent fixtures are not the best choice for indoor pepper starting/growing and that there are better options out there.   Having moved past that; my current situation finds me with eight fluorescent 4' tube dual-tube shop fixtures of the T8 variety.  ...

    Naga Morich ?

I'm also growing Naga Morich this year:         Yours seem far less bumpy.  As for the purple foliage... could be sunburn but likely not if they are indoors.  It might be a cross?

KingLeerUK GLOG 2015 - "time to make the powders"

Thanks for the encouragement guys.  I wish I had more exciting or extensive updates to give but things are sort of mundane at the moment.  All of the plants are putting on nice foliage and appear to be very healthy.  I've got pods in varying stages on most of my plants with a few of my supers...

KingLeerUK GLOG 2015 - "time to make the powders"

It's finally started raining again here in Central Florida.  I can only hope that we don't immediately go in to a period of "rain every afternoon and all night" like we had in April-May 2014 which ended up ruining most of my grow with brownspot. For now, the lawn is at least celebrating.   On to...

Birds. They often nip the leaves when attempting to catch insects on your plants.

    organic Organics 101

I'm considering starting a compost bin on my property but I've seen a lot of varying opinions about "the best" type to have.  My space is relatively limited, let's call it 4'x4' and I can't have anything too odoriferous or unsightly or I'll trigger the HOA in to action.
