We really getting the heat advertised?

Thanks for the link, definitely looked hot, no doubt about it, but no where near exceptional enough to justify the price tags I've seen on the stuff. I was looking somewhere today at blairs and they had it for like, 2000 bucks, probably enough to last you a week at that pace.

We really getting the heat advertised?

Well, I'm slowly building my way up, and recently got Blair's Mega Death which on different sites I've seen listed anywhere between 200 thousand scoville to 550 thousand scoville. I contrasted it too Mad Dog Inferno which is apparently 90 thousand scoville, and I still find Mad Dog to be hotter...

We really getting the heat advertised?

Sometimes I wonder if I'm really getting as much scoville as I'm told I am. Now I just got Mega Death, and she's a doozy alright, yet if its rated in the 200k range, to me, it doesn't cripple me 4 times more then Dave's insanity does, or twice as much as Mad Dog Inferno. So are these just...

Unholy Cows, Batman! Look How Many Chili Beers There Are!

I found some cheap Quebec jalapeƱo beer the other day when looking for a brew to put in my chili, seemed perfect, and it was so far as the recipe went, but tasted like arse on its own.

food Alcohol and Sugar in Chili

I made a nice chili the other night using some jalapeno beer in there for a kick. I always put beer in my chili, when I'm having chili, its usually an event worth drinking for. So I pour some in, no complaints.

    Painful Penne Arrabiata

Oh yah, as with most pasta recipes, this ones highly flexible, and is indeed a variation of a classic. I never really make it the same, like you said, sometimes you've got to modify it according to who's going to be eating it... I don't want to give my dad a heart attack either ! I...

    CaJohn's Fatalii fire & 10

Good to know, I'm so happy to be out of that dreadful past where all my hot sauces I bought would taste like frank's red hot. I love this wide world of burning pain.

    Painful Penne Arrabiata

Actually it's a tomato juice by mott's or cambells. Sort of like V8, but better, has a lot of green pepper juice in it. Also, for people who don't think a meals a meal without some meat, fry up a couple of spicy italian sausages, keep some of the run off, add it too the mix. Tonight I made...

    Daves Insanity is.................

, with wings or ribs, I'll covertly make a quarter of the food with something unbearable, and hide it within the platter of the other stuff. I love being a hot sauce jerk. You don't want to be passing out drunk in my bed if I throw a party is all I can say. :hell:

    Best Heat to Flavour Ratio?

I've only tried the reb habanero and xxxtra hot from el yucateco, and loved them both. Yah, NYC is just a few hours away from here methinks. This is another aspect of the site I like, sauce makers frequent it. :)

    Daves Insanity is.................

*drools* So mixing the two makes for better then either one of them on their own? I just bought some ribs, poured two thirds of Dave's Insanity(had about three quarters left), mixed it up with about a half cup or more of krafts brown sugar bbq sauce, and a few squirts of ketchup, let that sit...

    Best Heat to Flavour Ratio?

Thanks again, I'm already loving this forum! Just wondering how heavy I'd get hit with shipping charges, uncle big said something about up to 30$, which seems expensive for within Canada. I'm in Montreal so I don't know how much it cost to get something like 10 five ounce bottles for either...

    Daves Insanity is.................

I might take a chance with Total Insanity, but since I have been let down by the original, I'm not so sure. Especially considering there are thousands of other sauces begging to be tried, and I've yet to attempt Cajohn's or Defcon yet, and there is a lot of hype around here about the two.

    Best Heat to Flavour Ratio?

Well thanks, I'm guessing its more accurate then what I've been using? Scott Roberts Scoville Scale Not that I had any reason to believe this Roberts fellow was an authority on the subject, yet his site did look nice :). Whatever the case may be, I'm pretty sure at my early stage of...

    Best Heat to Flavour Ratio?

Oh, how I wish I was still living in the dormitory, if only to test sauces on the passed out denizens! I order from Chily Chiles, its a Canadian hot sauce place one province over from me. Saves me paying extra cross border tariffs and taxes. I'm pretty sure the Jersey will hold me over...
