in general most people would say to leave any leaves on. More leaves equals more power for your plant. Even a yellow leaf is either producing some sort of energy or providing needed shade for the plant to function. The plant will drop any leaves it doesn't need. I have two plants that are...
UPDATE:
Pulled the pods about 2 weeks ago... look at the difference (white residue is just from a recent epsom salt spraying... which has really helped all the leaves a lot. Getting pods and flowers now on most chinenses)
JUNE 12:
JUNE 29
They have been. Keeping them good and fresh changing the paper towel over them daily. On batch three of sauces (friends and coworkers always have their hands out.) Very high quality and super hot for the most part. Look pretty ripe so saved a bunch of seeds too.
Thanks Moruga... found an earlier thread from 2013 describing the same phenomenon in similar (hot and humid) weather. It's weird, they almost form this tight phalynx shape.. then in the morning they are back to their normal perky selves.
Been pretty steadily in the 80s to 90s here and recently (past 2 nights) my Scorpion and Reaper that otherwise seem to be doing real well have been drooping at dawn. In all other ways they seem to be doing really well. Is this related to the afternoon/evening heat possibly? Is it safe...
and yes it is early in season but these are the Bonnies
about 8 inches no big shade leaves at all
four inches or so and no growth this is like a 1 gallon pot it never grew at all
now my other plants look like this
and yes it was watering day so the soil looks wet.. give it a few...

Leaves definitely look nothing like that. Little tiny things like the early leaves in all my other plants...
I will take picture. For the record the leaves and pods on this are less than an inch. I guess I expected chili arbol size pods. These are tic tac size...assuming they grow?
My Home Depot thai impulse buy seems to be growing very prolific but TINY. Leaves and fruits are half the size of a normal pepper ir even smaller? Its like a dwarf? Possible? Genetics??
Im in Eastern Pa and mine look similar now. Planted about mod May. I have three that took off this week though. Really bushy. A red savina, chocolate bhut and ts moruga.
I am just letting nature take course now.The savina is even still in a 3 gallon pot but doing so well I am not moving it...
Thats the classic 'arbol' recipe. You can also horno roast over open flame. I use a variety of fresh and dried and mostly lemon for acid. I also roast a few cherry tomatoes in and might thicken with tomato paste. I leave out onions and salt...the salt mainly for health reasons.
If I have really...
Yeah too much rain in Eastern PA too. Great temps though. I'm trying to dry out my plants a bit and this weather will not allow.

You know a 7 Pod or Reaper when you eat it raw. It doesnt have a sharp burn it hurts... normally followed by some stomach cramping. That said Ive had Reapers in the Ghost Pepper heat range and Ghost Peppers I would swear clocked in at 2 million.
